This house is located on a west facing point on Lake Joseph, and includes a sports building, sports court and garage.
The building is separated into three zones—a central great room, family room and screened porch; and a master suite and bedroom wing on either side of the great room. Which house six bedrooms on two levels each with ensuite bathroom. At the lower level there is an indoor hot tub below the family room and a large recreation room which is separated from the rest by an exterior walkway under the kitchen which connects the front of the house to the lake.
The building is integrated with the site and the natural environment by keeping a low profile and natural palette of materials and colours. Like all our buildings, this building interconnects the indoors with the outdoors through extensive use of floor to ceiling glass and exterior soffits which engage the living spaces.
The cladding on the house is Oko-Skin, a fibre-cement product made in Germany that presents in a similar way to wood siding. The hip roof is standing seam metal, with aluminum clad windows rendering the entire exterior maintenance free. The cedar soffits are never exposed to wind nor rain and therefore require no regular maintenance.
