Peter Berton B.Arch., OAA FRAIC is an Ontario architect with more than 40 years experience in the design residential, institutional and commercial projects. After graduation from Carleton University, he joined the Thom Partnership Architects where he worked with the nationally acclaimed architect Ron Thom. Ron’s sensibilities about building sensitively designed buildings in natural environments and rural settings greatly influenced Mr. Berton’s approach to such projects. He worked with the same firm for 14 years and later in 1993 joined C.A.Ventin Architect (now +VG Architects)manage the fledgling Toronto office. Since then, Mr. Berton has designed a variety of buildings including Universities, Libraries, Museums, Recreational buildings, and multi-family residential projects. He began designing small cottage residential projects in the early eighties and continued to do so throughout his career, and has successfully completed more than 50 such assignments. He is known for contemporary, warm designs that integrate with the landscape and natural setting.
Mr. Berton remains an associate with with +VG Architects and continues to do small residential work on his own as Peter Berton Architect Inc.
